18-year-old Tasnim shares her story of living with a new heart. Two years ago, she underwent a heart transplant after a long period in which her health gradually declined due to a genetic heart muscle disease. Things that once felt effortless: climbing stairs, exercising, meeting friends, became increasingly difficult.
After an intense period in intensive care, she received a new heart. Since then, she has been slowly rebuilding her life. Sport plays an important role in that journey. At her athletics club and together with other young transplant recipients, she trains regularly, finding a strong sense of connection with people who have gone through similar experiences.
For Tasnim, the European Transplant Games are not about winning, but about reflection, connection, and sharing experiences. Her message is simple yet powerful: “You’ve been given a second chance: take it, stay active, and make something meaningful out of it.”
